My name is Jade Wheatley, I am a life member of The Currrumbin Alley Boardriders I joined the club in 2008 at the age of 12.  I am now 26 years old and am thrilled to be the first female president of our boardriders club.

I run my own performance surf coaching business and also work out of Surfing Australia as a contractor. I am passionate about surfing development and have a huge focus on Junior surfing progression.

The Alley is like a family to me and like all past presidents and committee members I want to continue to pursue a good pathway for the future of The Alley.  I want to work towards creating even more opportunities for this new generation of talented surfers striving to be world champions. I hope with a supportive club that can be the foundation of their surfing journey.

The Alley has had an excellent year last year on the competition circuit. Oscar Berry finished 5th in the World Junior Titles. The Alley groms had excellent finishes in competitions. We’ve had 2 members into the Surfing Queensland Academy, and regarding comps 13 finalists and 2 wins in 2022, along with countless other personal bests. It’s going to be a great 2023. I can’t wait to help continue to make these surfers strive towards their goals.

Thank you for welcoming me as president to The Alley Boardriders, I’ll do my very best to live up to the job.
